The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Monday announced the nominees for the Player of the Month award for the month of August. The nominees for Women’s cricket were mostly dominated by Australia whereas mixed participation was witnessed in Men’s cricket. Here are the details of the nominees:
Men’s Cricket:
- Sikander Raza- Zimbabwe all-rounder Sikander Raza has been the most notable nominee for the award. Raza has been in splendid form throughout the year and has recently smashed two match-winning centuries against Bangladesh and a scintillating century in losing-cause against India.
2. Mitchell Santner- New Zealand powerhouse Mitchell Santner has been in commanding form throughout the season. He has played some vital knocks with the bat and scalped 7 T20I wickets with a bankable economy of 21.
3. Ben Stokes- Ben Stokes has been a marvellous performer for England throughout the summer. Stokes has smashed 143 runs in the month and grabbed crucial seven wickets in the ongoing series against South Africa.
Women’s Cricket
- Tahlia McGrath
Tahlia McGrath has been in the convincing form right through the season. McGrath has chipped in five wickets and scored important 114 runs in the past month.
2. Beth Mooney
Mooney has been the most noteworthy performer for Australia in T-20 Internationals as she scored 167 runs in three matches to help her side to clinch the gold medal at the Commonwealth Games 2022.
3. Jemimah Rodrigues
Rodrigues has been fabulous for India against Sri Lanka and the Commonwealth Games where she played gripping knocks of 44 against England and 33 against Australia.
