A blistering 193-run knock played by Pakistan’s Fakhar Zaman has made him make notable gains in ICC Men’s ODI Player Rankings. The batsman has leapfrogged seven places in the rankings to acquire the 12th position.
On Sunday, Zaman played a terrific inning of 193 runs off 155 balls, nearing his second ODI double-ton, against the clash against South Africa in Johannesburg. During the knock, he shattered the record of the highest score in an ODI inning on the second position. Consequently, he achieved a fitting position in the ODI rankings.
Zaman’s teammate, bowler Haris Rauf also made remarkable progress with the help of the five wickets he picked up in the first and the second ODI contest between the two teams. He moved up 71 places to take over the 143rd spot among the bowlers.
Among other gains as a result of the ongoing Pakistan and South Africa ODI series, Rassie van der Dussen, who played a phenomenal inning of an unbeaten 123 in the second ODI and 60 runs in the first, achieved his career-best 22nd rank.
Aside from Dussen, another Proteas, bowler Anrich Nortje has jumped up to the 73rd position. He registered figures of 4-51 and 3-63 in the first and the second ODI. South African captain Temba Bavuma has also achieved his career-best 88th position, thanks to his 92 off 102 balls that helped the hosts secure a 17-run victory.
