Australian skipper Meg Lanning has moved up one position to secure the fifth position in the latest ICC Women’s ODI Player Rankings. She got the promotion after playing a valiant knock in the second game of the three-match series against New Zealand.
England’s batsman Tammy Beaumont leads the ranking at number one position, while Australian opener Alyssa Healy is sitting at third position with a career-best 756 points.
Furthermore, Beth Mooney jumped two places to the seventeenth position, while Nicola Carey is currently sitting at 65th position, courtesy of impressive performances in the recently concluded ODI series between Australia and New Zealand. Georgia Wareham has jumped 27 places to the 70th position in the rankings.
Talking about the New Zealand players, Leigh Kasperek has jumped seven places to the 17th position. Amelia Kerr has progressed two places to the 38th position. She played a valiant 47-run knock in the second ODI against Australia.
With the 3-0 whitewash, Australia has consolidated its number one position in the ICC Women’s ODI Team rankings. The series would hold them in good stead keeping in mind that the World Cup will be held in New Zealand. New Zealand, on the other hand, remains at the fifth position despite losing all the games in the series.
