In recognition of the exceptional performances seen throughout international cricket in November 2022, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has revealed the nominees for the ICC Player of the Month award.
Two members of England’s T20 World Cup–the winning team are among the nominees for the ICC Men’s Player of the Month award for November.
Jos Buttler provided a solid framework for success as captain and at the top of the order. Adil Rashid is in contention for Player of the Month after a string of strong bowling displays.

After stellar performances in bilateral cricket, three opening bats are vying for the ICC Women’s Player of the Month award for the month of November.

ICC Player of the Month Nominees for November: Men
Shaheen Afridi (PAK)
Pakistan’s bowling attack was spearheaded by Afridi to the T20 World Cup final. Four for 22 against Bangladesh in Adelaide helped his side advance. He took 10 wickets at 7.30 in July. He kept England in the Final despite being hurt.
Jos Buttler (ENG)
Buttler showed his range as England won the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. The England captain won Player of the Match against New Zealand with 73 off 47 balls. His 80 from 49 balls helped India chase down 169 without losing. Buttler scored 26 in a close Final and showed leadership to win the MCG.
Rashid is a world-class short-format bowler, and November underlined his reputation. Although he only took four wickets in four T20Is this month, his 5.70 economy rate limited scoring. He earned Player of the Match against Sri Lanka at the SCG and the T20 World Cup with a 1-22 in the final.
ICC Player of the Month Nominees for November: Women
Sidra Ameen (PAK)
Ameen only got out once in 3 ODIs against Ireland last month. She’s hoping for her first ICC Player of the Month award. She scored 176 and 91 in Lahore as Pakistan trounced the tourists 3-0. Player of the Series.
Natthakan Chantham (THA)
Chatham is an important player for Thailand as they progress in international cricket. Her first ODIs showed top-class batting. She helped Thailand beat the Netherlands 4-0. The Thai opener scored 267 runs in four matches, including a century (102 off 135 balls) and two half-centuries.
Gaby Lewis (IRE)
Lewis has been nominated four times for ICC Player of the Month. Ireland won three T20Is after losing ODIs against Pakistan. Lewis’ unbeaten 69 off 54 balls helped them win the first game, and he opened in the last game. Her 71-from-46 win made her Player of the Series.
