Afghanistan vs Scotland: Afghanistan will take on Scotland in the 17th match of the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 on Monday. Scotland are coming into this game on the back of impressive performances in the first round of the tournament. They began their campaign with an outstanding 6-wicket win over Bangladesh and it was followed by two more wins. As a result of that, Scotland topped the Group B table with three wins in as many matches.

Scotland played their last match against Oman and bundled them out for just 122 runs in the first innings. Josh Davey yet again starred with the ball, picking 3 for 25 runs in 4 overs. Scotland, in reply, chased down the score in just 17 overs, thanks to a collective batting performance from the top four.

George Munsey scored 20 runs off 19 balls, while Kyle Coetzer scored 41 off 28 deliveries. Mathew Cross and Richie Berrington stayed unbeaten at 26 and 31 respectively. Ahead of their first Super 12 encounter against Afghanistan, Scotland would look to continue the winning momentum.

Afghanistan, on the other hand, will be starting their ICC T20 World Cup 2021 campaign on Monday. They have got arguably the best spin attack, comprising of Rashid Khan, Mohammad Nabi and Mujeeb Ur-Rahman. The trio is going to be really effective on the slow pitches of UAE. It will be interesting to see how they play in the tournament.

The batting unit has a lot of power-hitters such as Hazratullah Zazai and Mohammad Shahzad. However, how consistent they will be remains to be seen.

Ahead of the important encounter, here’s a look at the predicted playing XI of both sides.

Mohammad Shahzad (wk), Hazratullah Zazai, Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Najibullah Zadran, Asghar Afghan, Mohammad Nabi (c), Gulbadin Naib/Karim Janat, Rashid Khan, Mujeeb ur Rahman, Naveen-ul-Haq, Hamid Hassan/Fareed Malik
