Star India opener Smriti Mandhana has reached third position in the ICC Women’s T20I Player Rankings. She has moved one spot to claim her career-best position in the ICC Women’s T20I Player rankings. Her upward movement was due to her match-winning fifty against Pakistan in the ongoing Commonwealth Games in Birmingham on Monday.

She scored 24 runs against Australia before notching a valuable 63 off 42 to surpass Sophie Devine in the rankings. She is now within two rating points of Australia’s Beth Mooney. Currently, the latter is sitting at the top of the table.

For the unversed, the Indian southpaw has previously reached the third position as well. She claimed the feat for the first time in 2019. She was also in the third spot in October last year as well.

New Zealand’s Suzie Bates has gained two slots to reach the sixth position after smashing a superb 91 not out off 64 balls against South Africa while Tahlia McGrath (up one place to 12th), India captain Harmanpreet Kaur (up four places to 14th), Pakistan’s Nida Dar (up three places to 40th) and South Africa’s Chloe Tryon (up five places to 47th) have also made notable progress among batters.

Meanwhile, Australia’s Ashleigh Gardner has climbed in all three lists, following her stupendous performance with the bat and ball against Barbados. She scored an unbeaten 52 with the bat, which helped her move five and placed her in the 11th spot. Besides, she picked 2 for 6 against Barbados, which helped her reach 26th position from 45th.

As far as bowlers are concerned, Australian spinner, Jess Jonassen returned with figures of 4 for 22 against India. It has helped her move to the fourth position, a list which is currently held by Sophie Ecclestone. Besides, South Africa’s Nonkululeko Mlab has moved up two places to 22nd, while Sri Lanka spinner, Oshadi Ranasinghe is now at 24th.
