IND vs AUS 2nd T20I: After losing the first match, India has stormed back into the series as they beat Australia by 6 wickets on Friday in an 8-over game in Nagpur.

Persistent rain during the match hours meant the game was shortened to 8 overs per side. Australia batted first and managed to notch a pretty good score of 90 runs on the board. Aaron Finch played a fine knock of 31 runs in 15 balls, including 4 fours and 1 six.

However, his partner, Cameron Green got run out early, while the likes of Maxwell (0) and David (2) also departed early. Bumrah then accounted for the wicket of Finch in the 5th over to leave Australia at 46 for 4.

They needed a good finish from someone and it came off the bat of Mathew Wade. Once again, the southpaw stepped up with the bat against India. He played an unbeaten knock of 43 runs in 20 balls, including 4 fours and 3 sixes. His knock propelled the team’s total to 90 runs at the end of the first innings.

In reply, the skipper Rohit Sharma set his intentions quick clear as he hit Hazlewood for a six on just his second delivery. KL Rahul also hit a six but then got bowled off Zampa in the 3rd over. The Australian spinner then accounted for the wickets of Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav in consecutive deliveries.

Rohit Sharma hit a match-winning knock

However, Rohit Sharma, on the other hand, put on an exhibition of sixes. Despite the regular fall of wickets, he kept smashing the balls to all parts of the ground. The Indian skipper smashed 4 fours and as many sixes en-route to his unbeaten 46-run knock in 20 balls.

His knock never let India come under pressure. India needed 22 runs in the last two overs. Sharma and Hardik hit Cummins one four each to leave the equation down to 9 needed in the final over.

Dinesh Karthik then hit a four and a six on consecutive balls to finish the game with four balls remaining in the match.
