IND vs BAN 1st Test: The ODI series between India and Bangladesh is done and dusted and the focus now shifts to the upcoming Test series. India will be playing the Test series in the absence of Rohit Sharma and apart from him, the likes of Mohammed Shami, Jasprit Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja are also not available.
It will be difficult for India to dominate the series in the absence of four key players but the two Tests hold more importance than ever before. The series is part of the World Test Championship and India is currently fourth on the WTC table.
They have six matches remaining and need to win 5 out of them to qualify for the final. In such circumstances, India are ought to win both matches in the Test series. KL Rahul will be leading the team. He will have the responsibility to do the bulk of the scoring.
Apart from him, the batting unit also comprises the likes of Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, Cheteshwar Pujara, Litton Das, Mushfiqur Rahim, etc. Ravichandran Ashwin will share the spin bowling duties with Kuldeep Yadav, while Umesh Yadav could be seen opening the attack with M Siraj.
Facing them are Bangladesh, who are likely to pose a stern challenge to the Indian Test team. Shakib Al Hasan will lead the Test team. Some of the team’s key batsmen include Mominul Haque, Yasir Ali, Najmul Hossain Shanto, Litton Das, and Mushfiqur Rahim.
Ebadot Hossain, Khaled Ahmed and Shoriful Islam are likely to make up Bangladesh’s pace attack.
Mehidy Hasan Miraz is in sensational form. He was nothing short of outstanding in the ODI series and would be looking to replicate the same in the Test series as well.
