IND vs BAN: Bangladesh recently announced their sixteen members squad ready to face the Indian Cricket Team in a three-match ODI series and two Test match series. Bangladesh is all set to welcome India starting with the ODI series taking place in December. Shakib Al Hasan, the star all-rounder, will be returning to the team after sitting out for the last white-ball tour to Zimbabwe in July-August. Hasan was also seen to captain the T20I World Cup recently.

With hopes of a quick recovery from the last defeat against Zimbabwe, the management has decided to bring in Shakib Al Hasan and Ebadot Hussain while dropping out a few. Mosaddek Hossain, middle-order batsman, fast-paced bowler Shoriful Islam and left-arm spinner Taijul Islam have been benched shocking everyone.

Hossain, 26, underperformed scoring only 38 runs from five innings in the recent T20I World Cup with only two wickets from three innings. Shoriful Islam, 21, played only one match giving 57 runs with no wickets against India in the World Cup. Previously, the young pacer performed excellently and took 19 wickets in 14 games.

Due to both severely underperforming, it cost them their place in the 16 squad for the upcoming tournament against India. Taijul Islam, 30, despite taking 20 wickets in 12 ODI matches, was replaced by Hasan. Taijul showcased a good performance taking three wickets in two matches with an economy rate of 4.31 against Zimbabwe.

Bangladesh is desperately attempting to turn the tables around even though this ODI series is not part of the World Super League, as this will serve as a springboard for the upcoming Cricket World Cup 2023 next year.

The ODI series is set to take place starting from 4th December where two are taking place at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur and the other at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram. The Test series is scheduled to start on 14th December.
