IND vs BAN: Ahead of the start of the three-match ODI series against India, the Bangladesh team has been hit with a big blow. Bangladesh’s ODI skipper, Tamim Iqbal has been ruled out of the series with a groin injury.

The skipper picked up the injury in the warm-up game at the Shere-e-Bangla National Stadium on 30th November 2022. A report by Cricbuzz suggests that the skipper has been advised to take rest for up to 2 weeks.

“Taskin is ruled out from the opening game of the ODIs as his back pain recurred,” BCB chief selector Minhajul Abedin told Cricbuzz on Thursday.

“We will be seeing his progress before taking further decisions regarding his participation,” he added.

Notably, the ODI series will be played from 4th December to 10th December. Tamim Iqbal is unlikely to feature in the ODI series but would be keen to make his comeback in the Tests.
