IND vs ENG 5th Test: Despite the stop-start passages of play due to rain, India was on top of England and is currently dominating the fifth Test. India ended the first day on 338 for 7 at the end of the first innings. Ravindra Jadeja completed his hundred before James Anderson cleaned him up in the 83rd over. Before that, Broad had Shami (16) in the 80th over and it looked like England would bundle India out under 400.

However, little did anyone know that Jasprit Bumrah was in the mood to make a world record. He smacked Stuart Broad for boundaries all around the park and add as many as 35 runs in a single over of Broad. With that, he made the world record of scoring the most runs in a single over in Test Cricket.

Earlier, Brian Lara held the record, having scored 28 runs in an over. Bumrah played an unbeaten knock of 31 runs in just 16 balls, helping India notch a mammoth score of 416 runs on the board. For England, James Anderson, yet again, picked a five-for, finishing with returns of 5 for 60 in 21.5 overs. Matty Potts picked 2, while Stokes and Root picked 1 each.

England end Day 2 at 84/5

In pursuit of the target, England made a horrible start. Alex Lees and Zak Crawley couldn’t get the team off to a great start. Lees scored only 6 runs in 9 balls, while Crawley made 9 runs in 17 deliveries. Ollie Pope also got cheaply for just 10 runs in 18 overs. Jasprit Bumrah sent all three batters back to the hut with three outstanding deliveries.

Joe Root, the big fish, also didn’t stay too long either. He got out off a bouncer from Siraj after scoring 31 runs in 67 balls, including 4 fours. At the time of writing, England is reeling at 84 for 5 in 27 overs.

Jonny Bairstow (12 off 47) and Ben Stokes (0 of 4) are currently unbeaten at the crease.
