Motera Stadium is all set to host seven big matches between India and England, starting with the third Test on February 24 next week. The venue will host the remaining two Tests, followed by a five-match T20I series against England.
As the players of both teams prepare for the upcoming Test match, they took to their social media account to express their excitement about playing at the world’s largest cricket stadium.
Former England cricketer Kevin Pietersen took to his Twitter handle to express his awe for Motera that facilitates over 1,10,000 spectators at a time. He posted a picture of the stadium and captioned: “My goodness! How spectacular does this stadium look for the next Test match in Ahmedabad?! 110K capacity. A Theatre Of Dreams!”
Pacer Stuart Broad also posted a snippet of the stadium during the practice session and wrote: “1st look at Cricket’s largest stadium 110,000 capacity pretty impressive”
Indian wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant also posted pictures of Motera Stadium and praised BCCI and Jay Shah for the world-class facility at the venue. “Fantastic to be at the new facility in Motera, great to see such world class facilities for cricket in Ahmedabad. After winning the first Test by 227 runs against India, they succumbed to defeat in the second Test by 317 runs. Ravichandran Ashwin became the Player of the Match in the second Test for his 106-run knock and took 8 wickets in both innings.
Indian team look in great touch, especially after the opener Rohit Sharma scored 161 runs in the second Test while skipper Virat Kohli scored 62 runs. Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav and Ravichandran Ashwin spin-choked the visitors and expected to continue their prolific performance at the Motera track.
