IND vs ENG: India has continued to showcase impressive performances in T20 internationals under the leadership of Rohit Sharma. The Men in Blue registered a series win against England on Saturday after registering a win in the second game by a big margin of 49 runs.

Once again, India batted first but came up with a different opening pair in Rohit Sharma and Rishabh Pant. The duo played aggressively from the word go and put their intentions quite clear. Pant and Sharma smashed the balls to all parts of the ground and added 49 runs inside the first five overs before the skipper got out off Gleeson on the last ball of the fifth over. He played a handy knock of 31 runs in 20 balls.

Virat Kohli’s struggles, however, continued as he got out for just 1 run in 3 balls. Suryakumar Yadav, followed him soon as he mistimed a pull-off Chris Jordan after scoring 15 runs in 11 balls. On the very next ball, Hardik Pandya got out and India had lost half of their side for just 89 runs. However, a brilliant knock from Ravindra Jadeja of 49 runs in 29 balls took the team to a competitive score of 170 runs on the board.

Indian bowlers, once again, were brilliant with the ball. Bhuvneshwar Kumar showed his art of swing bowling as he got rid of both the English openers inside three overs. Bumrah got rid of Livingstone in the fifth over to leave England reeling at 27 for 3. Wickets kept falling at regular intervals, thereafter, and England never looked like chasing the score.

Moeen Ali’s 35 off 21 and David Willey’s 33 off 22 gave England little hope but it was never going to be enough. In the end, England was bowled out for 121 runs in the second innings, thereby losing by 49 runs. The third T20I is slated to be played on Sunday in Nottingham.

IND vs ENG Brief Scores: India 170 for 8 (Jadeja 46*, Rohit 31, Jordan 4-27, Gleeson 3-15) beat England 121 (Moeen 35, Willey 33*, Bhuvneshwar 3-15, Bumrah 2-10, Chahal 2-10) by 49 runs
