IND vs SL 3rd T20I: India won the T20I series against Sri Lanka by a margin of 2-1 after beating Sri Lanka by 91 runs on Saturday in Rajkot. India skipper Hardik Pandya won the toss and opted to bat first.

Ishan Kishan, once again, couldn’t get going but Rahul Tripathi gave the team a stunning start in the powerplay with his brilliant knock of 46 runs in 36 balls. The cricket fraternity saw another masterclass knock from Suryakumar Yadav once Tripathi got out in the final over of the powerplay.

Despite players not looking at their best at the other end, Suryakumar Yadav kept smashing boundaries at all parts of the ground. He went on to notch his third T20 international century and reached the ton in just 43 balls.

He played an unbeaten knock of 112 runs in just 51 balls, helping the team reach a gigantic score of 228 runs at the end of the first innings. As for Sri Lanka’s bowling unit, Dilshan Madushanka picked two wickets but also leaked 55 runs in 4 overs.

The likes of Theekshana and Hasaranga didn’t have a great day in the office. In pursuit of the target, Sri Lanka kept losing wickets while running after the required run rate.

Pathum Nissanka never got going, while Mendis, once again, failed to convert the start into a big score. The likes of de Silva (22 off 14), Asalanka (19 off 14), and Shanaka (23 off 17) got starts but couldn’t stay there for too long.

Dasun Shanaka didn’t get support at the other end and, eventually fell for 23 off 17 balls. In the end, the Island nation fell 91 runs short of the target.
