Former cricketer turned commentator Sanjay Manjrekar is all set to return to commentary during India vs Australia series. The 55-year-old was barred by the BCCI to partake in any commentary assignments of India due to his derogatory comments in the past.

He was also not included in the commentary panel in the recently concluded 13th edition of the Indian Premier League in UAE. He wrote several letters to the BCCI issuing apologies to the apex body for his professionally offending comments.

Now Manjrekar has finally got the green flag to return in the upcoming India vs Australia series starting November 27. He took to his official Twitter account to inform the fans of his comeback with a caption: “Excitement in my household. Happiness in the air. It’s quite obvious. No one is saying anything, but pretty sure, it’s because I am leaving home after almost 8 months. #INDvsAUS”

Manjrekar had involved himself in a Twitter banter with the Indian all rounder Ravindra Jadeja after calling him “bits and pieces cricketer” during the 2019 World Cup.

He was also involved in a verbal banter with commentator Harsha Bhogle by passing a demeaning remark on him during an ODI game.

Such incidents led to him being left out of the BCCI’s commentary panel in March this year. In August he had written the last letter to the board asking them to reinstate him as in the commentary panel.

With his first duty after returning to commentary duties, Manjrekar will fly to Australia for commentary duties comprising of three ODIs, as many T20Is, followed by four Tests.
