India vs England 2021 ODI series: England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) on Tuesday announced the women’s squad against India. The board named a 16-member squad that will face the Indian women team in the upcoming three-match ODI series.
After a draw in the one-off Test match between India & England women will now engage in the white-ball contest. ECB has named some impactful players such as uncapped batter Sophia Dunkley, who will receive her maiden ODI cap.
England has also recalled spinner Sarah Glenn and pacer Freya Davis for the ODI series starting June 27 at Bristol.
Whereas, Daniel Wyatt and Georgia Elwiss played in the Test match are not a part of the 16-member squad. While seamer Emily Arlott also missed out on her International debut after not featuring in the ODI squad.
Head coach Lisa Keightley said: “The options available to us are the strongest we’ve had since I’ve been in the role and we feel this group gives us a great opportunity for success in the ODI element of the series.
“We have to balance the needs of the squad and the need of the individual and we’ll always be keen to get people playing competitive cricket where we can,” she added.
