India vs England: India and England will be playing the second ODI of the three-match series on Friday at Lord’s Cricket Ground in London on Thursday. India has taken a 1-0 lead in the series, after having won the first ODI by 10 wickets.

Jasprit Bumrah was the star of the game. He ran through England’s batting unit, claiming 6 wickets for just 19 runs, including 3 maiden overs. M Shami also gave him valuable support. Both are likely to share the fast bowling duties, alongside Prasidh Krishna.

Hardik Pandya could be given rest for the next game but chances are less. Virat Kohli didn’t play the last game due to a groin injury and it has been learned that he will be unavailable in the next game as well.

If that happens, then Shreyas Iyer should retain his spot. Rohit Sharma played an outstanding knock in the last game and this will give the team a lot of confidence. On the other hand, Shikhar Dhawan also made a great return in international cricket. He will be battling with a lot more ease in the next game.

Facing them are England, who have a must-win game on their hands. Jos Buttler hasn’t had a great start to his captaincy career. Under his leadership, England lost the T20I series and is on the cusp of losing the ODI series. Given how the batting unit is performing, he needs to come up with a solid performance.

Jason Roy’s poor run in the ongoing series is the biggest concern for England. However, England is likely to persist with him in the next two games as well. The likes of Jonny Bairstow, Joe Root and Ben Stokes are in great form and the trio is likely to come back stronger on Thursday.
