India vs West Indies: India and West Indies are set to lock horns with each other in the last ODI of the three-match series on Wednesday at Queen’s Park in Trinidad. India have taken an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series and would be keen to register a series whitewash. Having said that, they could think of giving chance to other players in the squad.
West Indies, on the other hand, too have played exceedingly well but couldn’t cross the line in the end on both occasions. In the last game, Nicholas Pooran and Co. managed to post a gigantic score of 311 runs in the board. In his 100th ODI, Shai Hope racked up a sensational ton, while Nicholas Pooran played an outstanding knock of 74 runs in 77 balls.
Besides, the likes of K Mayers and Shamarh Brooks are also amongst the runs and this should keep them in good stead. Rovman Powell is yet to play a big knock and he would be looking to make good returns in the last match.
Despite posting such a big score, West Indies lost the game, thanks to an unbelievable knock from Axar Patel. The Indian all-rounder came to the crease when India had lost half of their side for 205 runs on the board. However, what followed was an unbeaten knock of 64 runs in 35 balls, including 3 fours and 5 sixes. He hit a six on the fourth ball of the final over to seal a win for the visitors.
The likes of Shreyas Iyer, Shikhar Dhawan, Samson, and Shubman Gill are amongst the runs and, thus, batting shouldn’t really be a concern. With India already having won the series, they could think of giving a chance to Ruturaj Gaikwad and Arshdeep Singh.
