Sunrisers Hyderabad exited from the IPL 13 following a loss against the Delhi Capitals in Qualifier 2 game on Sunday. Losing skipper David Warner had all the reasons to be upset about after his side failed to make into the finals of IPL 2020.

Delhi Capitals looked dominant from the ball one of the matches from Marcus Stoinis and Shikhar Dhawan smacking SRH bowlers at all corners of the ground. Which was later followed by a finishing touch by Shimron Hetmyer as he smashed a quick-fire 42 runs off 22 balls.

Dhawan top-scored with 78 runs in the match and also scored 600+ runs in the tournament for his side this season. Delhi Capitals showed full grit until the last ball of the match especially the penultimate over of Kagiso Rabada in which he picked three wickets.

Rabada also became the purple-cap holder following his four wickets against the SRH batsmen and outnumber Jasprit Bumrah in the race. Marcus Stoinis too chipped in three wickets in the match and helped the side win the game by 17 runs.

SRH players looked clueless against the fierce-looking Shreyas Iyer led side leading to their ouster from the tournament.

During the post-match presentation, David Warner pointed exactly what led to their loss in the first place and exit from the tournament.

“The main thing is attitude in the field. You can’t win if you don’t take catches, we’ll have to do much better next time – that’s what’s let us down in this tournament – the attitude on the field” Warner said.

SRH suffered a blow after losing the in-form Wriddhiman Saha ahead of the qualifiers match due to his hamstring injury. Besides, they played rest of the season without Bhuvneshwar Kumar and all rounder Mitchell Marsh.

“Losing key players like Saha and Bhuvi has been difficult, but the rest of them have been excellent in their roles to get us where we have gotten today” he added.

Delhi Capitals will now face Mumbai Indians in the finals of IPL 13 in Dubai on November 10.
