Kings XI Punjab star opener Chris Gayle who is yet his first match of IPL 2020 is likely to play in the next match. The 41-year-old has recovered from the stomach bug for which he was hospitalized last week and might feature in the next match.
The side is slated to face Royal Challengers Bangalore in their upcoming match in Sharjah Cricket Ground on October 15.
“In an exciting development that is sure to delight Kings XI Punjab fans all over the world, the star opening batsman Chris Gayle is back on the training ground, having recovered from his stomach bug,” Kings XI Punjab posted on their official website.
Gayle hasn’t played a single game this season and also that the opening pair of Mayank Agarwal and KL Rahul is also in form.
Earlier, KXIP head coach Anil Kumble had revealed the team was planning on playing the universe boss against the Sunrisers Hyderabad.
The left-handed batsman was also missing out from the team dugout during their game against the Kolkata Knight Riders. He later posted a video from the hospital with a caption: “The struggle is real…Jah Jah.”
Kings XI Punjab has had a dreadful season this year and they are currently at the bottom of the points table.
