Anrich Nortje has joined his Delhi Capitals’ teammates in the bio-secure bubble on Friday. The South African speedster has tested negative in the three successive tests for Covid. Delhi Capitals also stated that his positive result in the test conducted earlier was a false result.
Taking to Twitter, Delhi Capitals updated on Norje’s inclusion in the biosecure bubble.
“He’s here. Our pace superstar is now out of quarantine. After a false-positive result for COVID-19, Anrich Nortje tested negative thrice, and is now part of our team bubble. We can’t wait to see him in action #YehHaiNayiDilli #IPL2021 @AnrichNortje02 @TajMahalMumbai,” DC wrote on their official Twitter profile.
South African speedsters, Anrich Nortje and Kagiso Rabada both missed out in the first game against CSK owing to quarantine protocols. After returning with negative results, Rabada was allowed to enter the bubble ahead of Delhi’s second game against Rajasthan Royals. However, Norje remained quarantined till the results of the further tests didn’t come out.
As per the latest reports, Nortje is fit and available to play for Delhi Capitals ahead of their third game against Punjab Kings on Sunday.
Delhi Capitals made a brilliant start to their IPL 2021 campaign, having won their first game against CSK by 7 wickets. However, they couldn’t replicate a similar performance in the next game as they lost to RR by 3 wickets on Thursday. Delhi would look to fill the loopholes and make a solid comeback in the tournament.
