Punjab Kings skipper KL Rahul finally arrived in Mumbai ahead of the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Almost all the Indian players and foreign players except Australia have joined their respective IPL teams this week.
The IPL 2021 will kickstart from April 9 with defending champions Mumbai Indians take on the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the tournament opener at Wankhede Stadium.
Where as Punjab Kings will begin their campaign against Rajasthan Royals at the same venue on April 12. KL Rahul was terrific last season and finished as the orange cap holder in the tournament after scoring 670 runs in 14 matches and a high-score of 132*.

Punjab Kings had also unveiled their new jersey on Tuesday with a different style coloured with red and with golden stripes. Moreover, the batsmen and the wicketkeeper will also wear a golden colour helmet this season.
The side has been prepping really well for the upcoming edition with the quest of winning this year’s title as they have never won the tournament since its advent.
They also acquired world’s number T20I batsman Dawid Malan who has been in a terrific form since England’s last summer.
The swashbuckling batsman had thanked his fans for joining the side ahead of IPL 14, “Message for all the fans and whoever watches the game, we are grateful to your support and hopefully this year is the year that the luck changes for us and we can put in some good match-winning performances, make the playoffs and hopefully win that trophy in the end,” Malan said in a video posted on Punjab Kings’ Twitter.
