IPL 2021 Match 7
Rajasthan Royals registered their maiden win in their second outing against Delhi Capitals on Thursday. Chasing a total of 148 runs, the Royals had a really poor start as their openers Manan Vohra and Jos Buttler got dismissed poorly.
It was Chris Woakes who gave a scare to the Royals by picking both their openers, followed by some feisty pace bowling from Avesh Khan and Kagiso Rabada in the death overs.
Avesh Khan continued his dream run in the ongoing IPL 2021 by finishing with three wickets in form of Shivam Dube (2 runs), Riyan Parag (2 runs) and all set David Miller who scored the highest 62 runs.
It was then a virtual treat for the fans as Chris Morris, the most expensive bid in IPL 2021 showed his prowess and smashed 36 runs off just 18 balls at a strike rate of 200. He hit four sixes in his inning, including two of them in the final over when the Royals needed 12 runs.
Delhi Capitals after losing the toss were put in to bat first, had a similar faltering start to their innings. Both the openers Prithvi Shaw and Shikhar Dhawan got dismissed in a similar fashion by Jaydev Undakat.
Skipper Rishabh Pant stayed on the crease and built a 51-run partnership with Marcus Stoinis before getting run-out on 51 runs. Delhi Capitals somehow managed to put a total of 147 runs after losing 8 wickets in 20 overs.

Unadkat (3/15) and Mustafizur Rehman (2/29) were the picks among the bowlers due to their fierce spell that helped Royals restrict Delhi on an average score. Unadkat was named player of the match for his all-round performance with both bat and ball as Rajasthan Royals won the game by three wickets.
As mentioned in the match preview of IPL 2021 Match 7, Kagiso Rabada returned on the side and added more firepower to its bowling.
