PBKS vs SRH: Sunrisers Hyderabad will take on Punjab Kings in the first of the two double-headers on Wednesday. Both teams haven’t made a good start to their respective IPL campaigns.
Punjab Kings Form:
After winning the first game by 4 runs against Rajasthan Royals, Punjab Kings have succumbed to two consecutive losses. Despite scoring 198 runs in their last game against Delhi Capitals, they couldn’t stop them from chasing it. Shikhar Dhawan’s spectacular knock of 92 runs off 49 balls helped DC chase down the target in just 18.2 overs. Punjab Kings have a lot of issues to sort out.
The likes of Chris Gayle and Nicholas Pooran are yet to unleash their cricket prowess in the tournament. If Punjab has to turn their fortunes around from here, then their middle-order has to come up with consistent performances.
It wouldn’t come as a surprise if Moises Henriques come in place of Pooran in the next game. The Australian all-rounder is bound to give stability to the team, given he can deliver 2-3 overs besides hitting the big shots.
Sunrisers Hyderabad Form
Punjab’s opposition, Sunrisers Hyderabad too haven’t performed to their potential this season. David Warner and Co. are languishing at the bottom of the table with 0 wins in three games. Much like Punjab Kings, the middle-order hasn’t done anything worth praising for. Their middle-order lacks match-winners, the ones whom you could trust to finish games for them.
Sunrisers Hyderabad would want Williamson to be match-fit for the next game if they fancy their chances against Punjab. Barring Rashid Khan, SRH has lacked steam in the bowling department. Their lead fast bowler, Bhuvneshwar Kumar hasn’t been able to take wickets. The franchise would hope for a better performance against Punjab Kings and open their account on Wednesday.
