England’s most successful Test bowler James Anderson has said that he is excited to face Virat Kohli and co. early next year. Anderson became the first pacer in the history to get 600 wickets in Test cricket.

The veteran pacer believes that it would be a “tough battle” between both the sides during their tour of India. Anderson praised the Indian skipper for his batting by saying, “It’s always tough bowling against batsmen of that quality,”

“Obviously, I’ve had some success against him in 2014 and then he came back a completely different player in 2018 and it was incredible. It will be a tough battle in that respect, but that’s something I do enjoy against the best players. As a bowler, you want to get the best players out.” he added.

The 38-year-old retained his form during the Test series against Pakistan, especially after the failure in the First Test. He went on to complete his 600 Test wickets in the third & the final Test match at the Rose Bowl cricket ground. Unfortunately, the match ended on a draw but England still won the series by 1-0.

When Anderson dismissed Kohli back in 2014

When India toured England in 2014, Anderson had managed to dismiss Kohli on four occasions. It was also Kohli’s rough patch as he managed to score a meagre 134 runs in 10 innings.

“Obviously, I’ve had some success against him in 2014 and then he came back a completely different player in 2018 and it was incredible. It will be a tough battle in that respect, but that’s something I do enjoy against the best players. As a bowler, you want to get the best players out.” the pacer said.

England and India are slated to engage in Test and limited overs series early next year. The cricket boards of both the countries are also figuring out the final fixtures of the entire series.
