JAM vs SKN CPL 2022: The 17th match of the Caribbean Premier League 2022 will have Jamaica Tallawahs take on St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots on Wednesday in Trinidad. Jamaica Tallawahs have made a pretty good start so far with 3 wins in 5 matches and thus are sitting at the second position on the points table.
However, they are coming into this game on the back of an 8-wicket defeat over the Barbados Royals. Skipper Rovman Powell stood with the bat as he smashed 52 runs in 31 balls.
The likes of Amir Jangoo (30) and Reifer (41) also made valuable contributions with the bat. Thanks to those contributions, Jamaica managed to score 156 runs in the first innings.
However, it wasn’t a big score as Barbados chased it down in 19.5 overs. M Amir and C Green picked one wicket each but needed to pick more which they couldn’t. Both will be crucial to the team’s fortunes in the next match.
St. Kitts & Nevis Patriots seeking 2nd win
On the other hand, St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots find themselves at number four with 1 win in 6 matches. They had a disastrous campaign so far and needed to turn it around if they want to remain in contention for the top four. St. Kitts lost their last match by 61 runs against Saint Lucia Kings.
Batting first, Saint Lucia Kings managed to score 161 runs in the first innings. Pretorius and Cottrell picked three and two wickets but were expensive. Most of the wickets came in the latter stage as the openers had a set of great platforms.
In pursuit of the target, St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots were bundled out for just 100 runs. They have an outstanding batting line-up but have consistently failed throughout the season. Ewin Lewis top-scored with the bat, scoring 24 runs in 9 balls, while most of the other batters got out on single-digit scores.
