As per reports, Test team players Jonny Bairstow and Ben Stokes are probably going to get a break and won’t be included in England’s upcoming T20I series against Pakistan.

A scintillating seven-match T20I series between England and Pakistan will occur before the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in 2022. England will travel to Pakistan in September–October 2022. They will visit them for a lengthy seven-match T20I series for the first time in the previous 17 years. The itinerary for the same has already been made public.

The first four games of the series between the two teams will be played in Karachi. The final three T20Is will follow it in Lahore.

The T20I series will act as the first stage of England’s visit before returning for a test series in December after the T20 World Cup. The three matches might have a big effect on the World Test Championship. Especially for Pakistan who is vying for a top-two finish.

The T20 team will be unveiled by the end of the week. Liam Livingstone (ankle) is a potential injury concern for the squad.

Both teams must win the limited-overs series to get ready for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup this year. The Cup will take place in October and November. In the current ICC Men’s T20I Team Rankings, England and Pakistan are now ranked second and third, respectively. They are among the favourites for the major competition later this year in Australia.

England’s visit for a T20I and Test series will kick off Pakistan’s jam-packed domestic schedule. Next, New Zealand will make two further trips to Pakistan. Once in April 2023 for five one-day internationals and five Twenty20 internationals. And the other in December 2022–January 2023 for a two-match WTC Test series and three one-day internationals. A three-match T20I series against West Indies will serve as the home season’s last bilateral series matches.
