Kings XI Punjab is not having a good season so far but the youngster Ravi Bishnoi been the standout performer for the side. Such has been his performance this season, it has grabbed the attention of the side’s bowling coach Charl Langeveldt.
Sunrisers Hyderabad won the game by 69 runs but Ravi Bishnoi still caused significant damage against them. Bishnoi finished with 3/29 in four overs and removed well-set openers, David Warner and Jonny Bairstow.
The 20-year-old has so far taken 7 wickets in the tournament and showed a lot of character in the death overs. Apart from Bishnoi, Arshdeep Singh who played his first game of the season finished with two wickets against SRH.
“I think they showed a lot of character. Ravi has done so well so far for us. In just a game being a youngster coming back and showing your skills and getting three wickets for us is brilliant. I am happy very happy for him,” Langeveldt said in a video posted on KXIP’s Twitter handle.
“I think he is putting the hard work and he performed well. He came on in a high-pressure game, he executed his skills it is important for him going into the next game,” he added.
At one point Sunrisers Hyderabad seemed to go past 230-240 runs mark but both the youngsters ensured to restrict them on 201 runs.
KXIP bowlers took five wickets in the span of three overs and eventually restricted the SRH to 175/5. Kane Williamson and Abhishek Sharma showed some explosive show and helped put 201/6 on board.
Kings XI Punjab batsmen failed yet another time as they lost their fifth match on the row and now placed at the bottom of the points table.
