Batting first, Oval Invincibles had scored a pretty good score of 143 runs in 100 balls. They didn’t have a great start as the likes of Rossouw, Will Jacks and Jordan Cox got out cheaply. Oval had lost three wickets for just 23 runs in 18 balls.
Skipper Sam Billings then joined hands with Sam Curran to steady the ship. The duo added 56 runs for the fourth wicket before Curran departed for 24 off 18. Billing went on to score 53 runs in 33 balls, including 4 fours and 3 sixes. However, once he got out, they didn’t add as many runs as they would have liked in the last 20 balls.
Joshua Little was the star with the ball for Manchester as he grabbed 5 wickets for just 13 runs in 20 deliveries. Gleeson chipped in with 2 wickets for 37.
In pursuit of the target, Manchester Originals got a pretty good start as they made 34 runs in first 18 deliveries. P Salt made an aggressive start but Evan departed after scoring 9 off 8 bals. Salt, on the other hand, made 19 off 14.
With 2 wickets lost for 44 on the board, the match was evenly poised. Wayne Madsen, however, was in a great mood as he smashed an unbeaten 53 off 39 balls and stayed right till the end. The likes of Tristan Stubbs (16), Turner (26) lost their wickets but Madsen carried the team home in the end. With that, Manchester Originals take the number two position on the table with 5 wins in 8 matches.
