It was a day of pure class from Manish Pandey and Vijay Shankar as Sunrisers Hyderabad defeated Rajasthan Royals on Thursday.

Chasing the target of 155 runs, Sunrisers lost the wicket of the explosive opening duo David Warner and Jonny Bairstow within the powerplay. It was from that point, Manish Pandey and Vijay Shankar took over and stitched a partnership of 140 runs to take the team home with 11 balls to spare.

It was an uncanny decision from the SRH skipper David Warner who chose to bowl first after winning the toss, at the Dubai International Stadium.

Robin Uthappa and Ben Stokes opened the batting for Rajasthan and somehow managed to put up a good start to the innings by playing strokeful boundaries.

Jason Holder who played the first game for the SRH this season pounded heavily on the RR batsmen by picking three crucial wickets and finished with 3/33.

Rajasthan Royals managed to reach the total of 156 after losing 6 wickets in 20 overs, Sanju Samson top scoring with 36 runs.

Rajasthan Royals had a superb start as Jofra Archer took two wickets in his first spell during the powerplay overs. Sunrisers were left struggling at 16/2 before Manish Pandey came and resurrected the inning with his scintillating 83 runs off 47 balls consisting of four boundaries and eight sixes.

He became the player of the match for his match-winning knock and helped Sunrisers Hyderabad clinch two points and fifth place in the points table.
