All-rounder Marcus Stoinis has signed up to play in the International League T20 (ILT20) with Sharjah Warriors. Stoinis is the first Australian player to sign into the league. The 33-year-old will be the first player who would be playing two leagues simultaneously. Big Leagues and ILT20 are overlapping this year and Stoinis will be present in both. This significant move will pave the path for other players to make a switch between leagues seamlessly in the future.

Since Stoinis is the only Australian to game this season, it will significantly increase the appeal of international players and bring in more Aussies in the following seasons. ILT20 will get underway from January 13th to February 12th with a six-franchises where 24 UAE players will get the platform to play with many international cricketers.

Presently, Stoinis is actively playing in the Big Bash League happening in Australia. He will be joining England’s vice-captain Moeen Ali, Chris Woakes, Afghanistan’s ex-skipper Mohammad Nabi and Namibia’s JJ Smit in the ILT20 league.
