Mumbai Indians stormed into the finals of the IPL 2020 following a clinical performance against the Delhi Capitals on Thursday.

Jasprit Bumrah led his side from the front by picking 4/14 against the clueless Delhi batsmen and took the side to yet another final of the tournament. The defending champions led by Rohit Sharma looked a complete side in both the departments of batting and bowling in Dubai.

Put into bat, Mumbai Indians had a silencing start after losing the wicket of the skipper Rohit Sharma for a duck. However, Quinton de Kock scored a quickfire 40 runs , followed by half centuries from Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan.

With a notable contribution from the middle order batting, Mumbai Indians reached a stiff total of 200/5 after 20 overs. The batting unit had done their job with comparatively easier task for the bowlers to defend the total.

Ravichandran Ashwin picked the most three wickets for Delhi Capitals and removed both MI’s openers during his spell.

While defending 200 runs, MI pacers Trent Boult and Jasprit Bumrah cleaned DC’s top order within the powerplay by restricting them to 20/4.

Marcus Stoinis and Axar Patel put in effort and gave resistance to the inning but their knocks weren’t sufficient to take the side home.

Jasprit Bumrah became the purple cap holder with 27 wickets in the tournament after taking four wickets and in the match.

On the other hand, Delhi Capitals stumbled on to their fourth loss in the last five matches mostly coming due to the batting failure.

Delhi Capitals will now face the winner of Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Royal Challengers Bangalore to take place on November 6.
