NED vs PAK 2nd ODI:The Netherlands will be playing against Pakistan in the second ODI on Thursday at Hazelaarweg. The first ODI was also played here and won by Pakistan by 16 runs. The home team would lose the series if they fail to win the second match. The Netherlands fought hard with the bat in the first game but fell just 16 runs short of the target.

Fakhar Zaman scored 109 runs in 1st ODI

Pakistan batted first in that game and managed to score 314 runs in the first innings.  Fakhar Azam set the foundation with an outstanding knock of 109 runs in as many deliveries, including 12 fours and 1 six. The likes of Babar Azam (74) and Shadab Khan (48 off 28) also made valuable contributions to the score.

Mohammad Rizwan (14) and Khushdil (21 off 18) were guilty of not converting the starts into big scores. The duo would be looking to come back stronger in the next game. As for the Netherlands, both van Beek and Bas de Leede picked two wickets each but the Netherlands would be looking to perform better with the ball in the next match.

Netherlands lost by 16 runs

In pursuit of the target, the hosts fought hard till the end. Opener Vikramjit Singh held firm and played a solid knock at the top despite wickets falling at the other end. He made a crucial 65 off 98 balls, including 5 fours. However, it was the partnership between Tom Cooper and Scott Edwards which left Pakistan in deep worry.

Both of them made valuable contributions but couldn’t guide the team home. Tom Cooper made 65 off 54 balls, while Scott Edwards amassed 71 off 60 balls. Given how they batted, the second game could be the one to watch out for.
