Former New Zealand skipper Amy Satterthwaite is all set to make a comeback in the New Zealand squad after coming out of her maternity leave.

Amy will also be a part of the team that will tour Australia next month for the limited-overs series starting from September 26. The players are scheduled to leave for Australia on September 9 and serve the mandatory quarantine. After that, the players will start their training before the first match at the Allan Border Field in Brisbane.

Satterthwaite alongside Jess Watkin will be making a comeback while leg-spinner Deanna Doughty earned her maiden call-up for the White Ferns.

Sophie Devine will lead the 17-member squad as they will mark the return of the women’s international cricket. Both the teams will engage in a three-match ODI series and as many T20I matches series. The last time they played an international game was back in March during the Women’s T20 World Cup.

“The team is extremely thankful to all those involved in making this tour a reality. We hope the upcoming ODI and T20I matches can excite and entertain people in what’s been a tough time for everyone.” White Ferns skipper Sophie Devine said.

“We’re definitely going over there to bring back the Rose Bowl. The team are under no illusions – it’s going to be a tough task taking on a world-class Australian team. We’re an experienced group and having Amy back in the fold only adds to our batting depth and on-field leadership.” she added.
