England spinner Adil Rashid has become the second most successful bowler against Indian captain Virat Kohli on Friday. Rashid has accounted for Kohli’s wicket nine times in international cricket. He dismissed Kohli for the ninth time in the ongoing second ODI between India and England at Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Pune.
Virat Kohli looked in sublime form and reached his fifth consecutive half-century. He was on course to end his century-drought; however, Adil Rashid had other plans. He sent Kohli back to the pavilion on 66 off 79 balls.
Tim Southee is the most successful bowler against Kohli. The New Zealand fast bowler has accounted for his wicket for as many as 10 times in international cricket. Jimmy Anderson and Graeme Swann have dismissed Kohli eight times in international cricket.
Earlier, Virat Kohli etched his name in the record books as he completed 10,000 runs at number three position. Only Ricky Ponting has scored more runs than Virat Kohli at the number three position. The former Australian skipper has scored 12,662 runs in 330 innings. On the other hand, Virat Kohli has reached 10,000 run-mark at number three position in just his 190th innings.
India has scored 336 runs in the second ODI against England on Friday. In a must-win game for England, the visitors need 337 runs to save the series.
