Smith scripted history when Australia’s second innings of the third Test went on against Pakistan in Lahore. Sangakkara took 152 innings to reach the historic site, and Smith got there in his 151st place. In terms of matches, the Australian batsmen got there very quickly, taking 85 matches compared to Sangakkara’s 91.
Famous striker Sachin Tendulkar scored 154 goals to reach the record. In the match, Smith scored 59 points and 27 points as Australia placed Pakistan in a bid to win the decisive series.
Half-century from Usman Khawaja, Cameron Green and Alex Carey and Smith helped the visitors throw 391 in their first innings. Shaheen Afridi and Naseem Shah received four wickets each.
Pakistan then looked good in their first essay, but Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc made an incredible mistake that put them in 268. Cummins got five wickets, while Starc took four.
Khawaja, who made 91 in the first innings, went on to hit his second 100 series as he finished unbeaten in 104 in Australia’s second innings, while David Warner hit 51 as the visitors announced on 227 / 3, to set Pakistan 351 victory.
In retrospect, Pakistan reached 73/0 at Stumps on Day 4, needing 278 more runs to win. Imam-ul-Haq hits 42, and Abdullah Shafique is 27.
