Brisbane Heat takes on Sydney Sixers in the 36th match of the Big Bash League (BBL) 2021-22 on Wednesday at Carrara Oval in Queensland. The Sydney Sixers suffered their third defeat of the season in their last game against Perth Scorchers.
Hayden Kerr didn’t allow Scorchers to stitch partnerships as he picked 4 wickets for 32 runs. His spell helped the team restrict Perth Scorchers to 143 runs in the first innings. Daniel Christian also bowled a vital spell of 2 for 14 in 4 overs. Sydney Sixers, however, didn’t show great application with the bat. The top four batsmen fell for single-digit scores. Jordan Silk made 16 off 19.
Daniel Christian, however, later, played an outstanding 73-run knock off 61 balls, including 5 fours and 4 sixes. Though, he found little support from the other end. Despite his heroic knock, Sydney Sixers only managed to score 143 runs in the second innings, thereby losing the game by 10 runs. Sydney Sixers would look to get back to winning ways ahead of their next game on Wednesday.
Facing them are Brisbane Heat, who find themselves at number five on the table. Brisbane Heat have so far managed to register 3 wins out of 8. Much to the delight of their fans, they are coming into this game on the back of a 14-run win and thus would be brimming with confidence. The batting unit didn’t fare too well in the last game but a crucial 27-ball 44-run knock from Bazley helped the side reach 150 runs in the first innings.
Xavier Bartlett gave the team an outstanding start with the ball as he accounted for the first three wickets for just 38 runs. Later Mujeeb Ur Rahman picked three crucial wickets to leave Hobart Hurricanes in all sorts of trouble. Hobart Hurricanes, eventually, fell 14 runs short of the target.
