Hobart Hurricanes will square up against Brisbane Heat in the 29th match of the BBL 2021-22 on Saturday in Hobart. The Hurricanes have made a sensational comeback after making a poor start in the season.
They are at number three on the points table and are coming into the match on the back of three consecutive wins. Ben McDermott played a sensational knock of 127 runs off 65 balls in the last game to guide Hurricanes to a mammoth 206 in the first innings against Melbourne Renegades.
Tim David also played a superb 9-ball 30-run cameo later during the innings. In reply, Melbourne Renegades were folded for just 121 runs in the second innings, handing Hurricanes an 85-run victory. Thomas Rogers led the way with the ball as he picked 3 for 24 in 3 overs. Lamichhane also picked 3 wickets, while Short and Meredith picked one wicket each.
Facing them are Brisbane Heat, who are sitting at number five on the points table, having managed only 2 wins in 7 matches. Brisbane Heat is coming into this encounter at the back of two consecutive losses. Sydney Sixers beat them by 2 wickets in their last game.
Brisbane Heat put on a horrendous performance with the bat as they were bowled out for just 105 runs in the first innings. Not a single player scored a decent knock as they looked clueless against a great bowling display from the Sixers.
The bowlers, however, showed great fight and took the match till the very last ball of the match. The likes of Xavier Bartlett, James Bazley, and Jack Wildermuth all picked two wickets each but, in the end, Sixers crossed the finishing line. Ahead of their next game against the Hurricanes, they would look to get back to winning ways.
