Sydney Sixers take on Melbourne Renegades in the 30th match of the Big Bash League (BBL) 2021-22 on Saturday at International Sports Stadium. Sydney Sixers are currently sitting at the top of the table with 6 wins in 7 matches. They made a meal of a low-scoring total in the last game against Brisbane Heat but, in the end, won the match by 2 wickets.
The bowlers bowled wonderfully to bowl out Brisbane Heat for just 105 runs in the first innings. Abbott starred with the ball as he picked 4 wickets for just 31 runs in 4 overs. Dwarshuis and Hayden Kerr also bowled well, picking two wickets each.
Sydney Sixers, however, exhibited a miserable performance with the bat. Both the openers went back to the hut without opening their account. Daniel Hughes (6), Moises Henriques (15 off 15) and Jordan Silk (3 off 4) also went for low scores. Sean Abbott, however, played an unbeaten match-winning knock of 37 runs off 43 balls to help the team chase down the score and win the match for the side. Ben Dwarshius, also supported him brilliantly, scoring 23 off 20 balls. Expect the team to exhibit a better performance against Melbourne Renegades.
Melbourne Renegades, on the other hand, are languishing at the bottom of the points table. They have only managed to win 1 match out of 6. They conceded a gigantic total of 206 runs in their last game against Hobart Hurricanes. In reply, Melbourne Renegades only managed to score 121 runs in the second innings. Sam Harper scored a valuable half-century but there was little contribution from the other batsmen.
Keeping in mind the performances of both sides, expect Sydney Sixers to win the match by a significant margin.
