In a new turn of events, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BC) has clouted uncertainties over Shakib al Hasan’s participation in IPL 2021. The all rounder was not picked for Bangladesh’s Test series against Sri Lanka for featuring in IPL.
However, the BCB has now decided to put a hold on the all rounder’s NOC just few days after stating of holding back the NOC for Shakib. The board and Shakib have had a fall out on the same issue publicly, leading to such series of events.
In his response, Shakib said that the apex body misinterpreted his preference of IPL over the Sri Lanka series compelling them to not pick Shakib in the national squad.
Inspite of all of such happenings, Ismail Haider, Director of BCB affirmed that Shakib will be given the NOC for participating in the IPL.
The sources had earlier confirmed that Shakib will join the KKR camp by the end of March ahead of IPL 2021. His NOC will be valid until May 18, while the finals of the tournament will be played on May 30.
Shakib arrived from the US earlier this week and began his preparation for the IPL in the nets. He was seen bowling and batting implying he has recovered from his groin injury completely.
It all now depends on the final decision by the BCB on Shakib’s NOC after their meeting in the coming days.
