Former Australian cricketer Brad Hogg stated that Kyle Jamieson should make for a long-term investment for Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL. Ahead of the mega-auction in IPL 2022, Hogg believes that Jamieson should be retained by the franchise.
In a Q and A session, Brad Hogg replied to a fan’s Tweet, saying that Jamieson should be a long-term investment.
Ahead of the IPL 2021, RCB bought Kyle Jamieson’s services for a whopping 15 crores. He impressed with his disciplined line and length, picking 9 wickets and also scored 59 runs with the bat. In a very short span of time, Kyle Jamieson has become a household name in cricket. In just 8 Tests, the Kiwi all-rounder has managed to pick 46 wickets at an astonishing average of 14.17.
Kyle Jamieson emerged as the standout player of the WTC Final. He played a pivotal role in New Zealand’s first world title victory, clinching seven wickets. He took his fifth Test fifer (in the first innings) since his debut in February last year. No other bowler has taken this many five-wicket hauls during this period. He became the first New Zealand bowler to take five fifers within eight Tests. Jamieson has now amassed 16 wickets team India, and 46 overall.
Kyle Jamieson earned the Man of the Match award for his impressive performance in the WTC final against India. He picked his fifth five-wicket haul in the game and returned with match figures of 7 for 61. He picked Virat Kohli’s wicket twice in the match and was the foremost reason to put India on the backfoot. His fine run in international cricketer has certainly made him a hot property in cricket. As per a report by TOI, each team can retain up to 4 players each ahead of the next year’s mega auction. The franchises can either retain three Indian players and one overseas player or two Indian players and two overseas players.
