Universe Boss Chris Gayle is all set to play in the forthcoming US Open T20 tournament scheduled to be played in December. The tournament will take place between December 15-20 at Central Broward Regional Park in Fort Lauderdale.
Gayle will join the likes of Fabian Allen, Delray Rawlins and New Zealand’s Corey Anderson in the tournament in its 12th edition. The 41-year-old will play for the Atlanta Param Veers which will be led by Rayad Emrit. Gayle last played for the Kings XI Punjab in the recently concluded Indian Premier League in the UAE.
Emrit also led Guyana Amazon Warriors in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) and Gayle will play under his captaincy for the first time in the US T20 tournament.
Other players playing alongside Gayle is fast bowler Kesrick Williams and spinner Fabien Allen.
Former South African pacer Wayne Parnell and former New Zealand all rounder Corey Anderson will also step on the ground for the first time in the tournament.
Last month, the organizers had opened registrations for the players and coaches for the 12th edition of the tournament. Defending champions Somerset Cavaliers will be competing in the tournament alongside Faisalabad Falcons, Afghan Zwanan Cricket Club, Atlanta Param Veers, 22 Yards Zalmi, Punjab Blues, Brampton Pacers and SAMP Army.
