The Ireland Cricket Team is all set to play against four full-member cricketing nations in their upcoming home season of cricketing action as Cricket Ireland announces fixtures for their home season of international cricket. The Ireland Cricket Team will be playing T20 internationals against India, New Zealand, South Africa, and Afghanistan over a two-month period.
“2022 is set to be the biggest summer of international cricket ever in Ireland, we are delighted to welcome back India Men’s team for the first time since 2018, as well as the number one-ranked ODI side – the Black Caps, who were last here in 2017,” said Cricket Ireland CEO Warren Deutrom.
“We are delighted to welcome back India Men’s team for the first time since 2018, as well as the number one-ranked ODI side – the Black Caps, who were last here in 2017. Just as important, given we will shortly after be heading to a T20 World Cup, are the two T20I series against South Africa and Afghanistan. Our thanks go to Gloucestershire Cricket Club for agreeing to host the South African series,” he added.
Ireland will be playing a two-match T20 series against India. The two T20 internationals will be played on 26th and 28th June 2022. This will be followed by three one-day internationals against New Zealand, scheduled to be played on 10th, 12th, and 15th July 2022.
Ireland will then play as many T20 internationals against New Zealand. The first match will be played on 18th July 2022, while the second and third match is slated to be played on 20th and 22nd July 2022. Ireland will end the summer with 2 T20 internationals against South Africa, scheduled to be played on 3rd and 5th August 2022. Ireland will also be playing a five-match T20 International series against Afghanistan. The dates and venues, however, are yet to be finalized.
Besides, the full schedule of Ireland’s women’s fixture will be announced shortly. Tickets will be available in some time on Cricket Ireland’s website and its social media handles. As per reports, new hybrid pitches that will be installed will be for training purposes only since the International Cricket Council does not allow for international matches to be played on such surfaces.
