Jharkhand cricket team have etched their name in the record books after scoring the highest team score in the history of Vijay Hazare Trophy on Saturday. In the ongoing match between Jharkhand and Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand posted a mammoth 422-run total in the first innings. It is now the highest ever total posted by a team in the history of the Vijay Hazare Trophy. The previous best was 412 runs posted by Madhya Pradesh against Railways back in 2010.
Ishan Kishan starred for Jharkhand, having played a sensational knock of 173 runs off just 94 balls, a knock which was peppered with as many as 11 sixes. He brought up his century in 74 balls before wreaking havoc in the remaining deliveries he faced during his knock.
In the final 20 balls of his knock, he posted 71 runs and thereby helped the side get to the 200-run mark in 26th over. This is not the first time when he has played such a terrific knock in his domestic cricket career. In his List-A cricket career, he has scored 2334 runs in 72 matches at an average of 36.5
Mumbai Indians would be happy to see Kishan batting like this. The Mumbai Indians opener played some sensational knock in the latter half of the IPL 2020. In 14 matches, he amassed 516 runs at a sensational average of 57.33. He would be hoping to carry his good form for the remainder of the Vijay Hazare Trophy and in IPL.
Ishan Kishan is currently leading the Jharkhand side in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy. They are sitting in a very good position in the first game. Chasing a mammoth total, Madhya Pradesh is reeling at 74 for 5. Varun Aaron has taken 4 wickets for Jharkhand, giving away just 37 runs in his 5 overs.
