Australian cricketer Jimmy Peirson is an aggressive right-handed batsman who plays for Queensland Redlands Tigers in Brisbane Grade Cricket. He came into the reckoning after leading Queensland in the Australian U-19 Championship title. He scored 311 runs in the tournament at an average of 58.
A solid right-handed batsman, he made heads turn while playing for the Bulls in the 2013 Ryobi Cup, scoring consecutive half-centuries in his first two matches.
Given that the Queensland bulls already had a seasoned wicket-keeper batsman, Jimmy Peirson couldn’t make a fast entry in the side. He made his first-class debut for Cricket Australia XI against the West Indians during their tour of Australia in December 2015.
In the BBL, he has been a consistent run-scorer for Brisbane Heat for more than 4 years now. He is known to provide solid starts in the powerplay overs, striking at more than 130.
Jimmy Peirson hasn’t yet made his international debut but is expected to wear the baggy green soon. With Australia still looking for an ideal wicket-keeper batsman in Tests, he might get a chance to represent the country.
