Indian captain Virat Kohli and his better half Anushka Sharma welcomed their first child on Monday as the couple has been blessed with a baby girl. Kohli, who has been a piece of extreme homegrown and worldwide cricketing visits, had chosen to take paternity leave following the finish of the first Test of the four-match series between India and hosts Australia in Adelaide.
The Indian captain had said that he needed to be home for the birth of his first child. On Monday, the skipper shared the uplifting news with his fans and adherents on Twitter. To make the declaration considerably more unique, the Indian captain wrote an extraordinary note across the entirety of his online media handles.
“We are thrilled to share with you that we have been blessed with a baby girl this afternoon. We thank you all for your love, prayers and good wishes. Anushka and the baby are both healthy and we are feeling beyond blessed to start this new chapter of our lives. We hope that you can respect our privacy at this time. Love, Virat,” Kohli wrote.
Virat and Anushka, lovingly called ‘Virushka’ by fans, had announced Anushka’s pregnancy in August last year. The couple shared similar posts on social media and wrote, “And then, we were three! Arriving Jan 2021.”
Under Kohli, India lost the ODI series but beat Australia 2-1 in the T20Is. On Monday, Ravichandran Ashwin and Hanuma Vihari batted through the entire final session as India salvaged a draw in the third Test at the SCG.
