England all-rounder Chris Woakes has reached his career-best third position in the latest ICC ODI Men’s cricket ranking for the bowlers. After his phenomenal show in three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka, Woakes finds himself at third position. He grabbed six wickets in two games, including a four-wicket haul. The top two spots in the rankings are filled by Trent Boult and Mehidy Hasan Miraz, claiming first and second position respectively.
Woakes’ previous best was the fourth position attained in September. As for the all-rounders’ list, he has pipped Ben Stokes to reach the third position. English bowler, David Willey and Tom Curran have also made gains in the ICC ODI rankings for the bowlers. Willey moved up to 13 places to 37th position after earning the player of the series award against Sri Lanka. Tom Curran’s four wickets in two matches also helped him gain 20 placed to 68th position.
Test skipper Joe Root’s performance in the series also helped him claim 13th position in ICC cricket ranking for batsmen. As for Sri Lanka, Dhananjaya de Silva has gained 10 spots to reach the 74th position.
Quinton de Kock’s outstanding performances in the series against West Indies has helped him advance nine places to 13th position in the T20 rankings for batsmen. He scored 255 runs in 5 matches against West Indies. His ally, Aiden Markram has continued his fine show in the shortest format as he advances 23 places to reach 19th position in the T20 rankings.
From the West Indies side, Evin Lewis has advanced one position to attain the ninth rank after finishing with 178 runs. Furthermore, Nicholas Pooran has gained 20 places to reach 87th position while Shimron Hetmyer is up 15 places to 99th position.
All-rounder Dwayne Bravo has moved from 95th to 44th among bowlers after finishing with 10 wickets in the series while Obed McKoy has moved up 65 places to 53rd with nine wickets.
