Cricket Ranking: Indian women’s cricket team captain, Mithali Raj boasts of number three position in the ICC ODI Women Cricket Ranking among batters. She is currently only behind Lizelle Lee (761) and Alyssa Healy (750) in the rankings. Mithali Raj currently has 738 rating points to her name.
Her ally, Jhulan Goswami, on the other hand, has maintained the number three position among bowlers in the ICC Women’s ODI rankings issued on Tuesday. Indian opener, Smriti Mandhana is at sixth position with 710 rating points.
Pakistan’s left-arm spinner, Nashra Sandhu has jumped four placed to number 17. He has gained points on the back of an impressive performance (2 for 24) against Bangladesh in the ICC Women’s World Cup Qualifier in Zimbabwe on Sunday.
After their team’s opening match in the nine-team tournament being played across four venues in Harare, off-spinner Salma Khatun has moved up four places to 35th among bowlers, while left-arm spinner Nahida Akter has moved up four spots to 41st. Three teams are expected to book spots in the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2022, which will be held in New Zealand in March-April.
After putting up 137 runs for the sixth wicket for Pakistan, Aliya Riaz and Nida Dar have made great development as bats. Aliya has moved up five places to 32nd place after scoring 61 not out off 82 balls, while Nida’s 111-ball 87 has moved her up to seven places to 37th place.
Nashra Sandhu, a left-arm spinner, has moved up four places to 17th, while Nida has moved up four places to 29th after collecting one for 17 in 10 overs. Anam Amin has jumped from 43rd to 40th place.
Bangladesh batters were also among the top gainers with Fargana Hoque and Rumana Ahmed making significant progress. The former gained one position to number 25 after playing an outstanding 45-ball 90 for Bangladesh recently. Rumana Ahmed, on the other hand, also played a crucial unbeaten 50-run knock, which helped her climb five placed to number 29 in the rankings.
India’s women’s cricket team are currently ranked number four in the ODI rankings. Australia is currently the number one ranked team in ODI cricket, followed by England and South Africa at number two and three, respectively. As for the T20Is, Australia is the number one spot, followed by England and India at two and three.
The Indian Women’s Cricket Team are set to tour New Zealand for a white-ball series. They will be playing one T20I and five ODIs against the Blackcaps. The series will begin with the solitary T20 international, scheduled to be played on 9th February 2021.
