Indian Premier League has been paving the way for opportunities for the youngsters not only from India but across the participating nations over the years. The tournament has seen many uncapped players finding success in the shortest format of the game.
This time around Chennai Super Kings that had a forgetful campaign in the previous year’s IPL, has taken certain decisions to reform the team ahead of IPL 2021. They also bought England’s Moeen Ali, Cheteshwar Pujara, Robin Uthappa and Krishnappa Gowtham in IPL 2021 auction.
And in order to prepare for this season of IPL, the franchise has roped in a fresh set of net bowlers and one of them includes Afghanistan’s Fazalhaq Farooqi.
Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) posted a tweet of the young pacer departing for India ahead of IPL 2021 with a caption: “Young Fast bowler @fazalhaqfarooq6 left to India where he is roped in as a net bowler by @ChennaiIPL for the upcoming season of @IPL !”
Last season Chennai Super Kings had a dismal outing in the UAE after a flop campaign and finished the tournament at the seventh position. The side missed out on the services of Suresh Raina and Harbhajan Singh who opted out of the tournament while Dwayne Bravo was mostly sidelined due to injury.
This year the franchise has also come up with a rebranded jersey the unpacking of which was done by the skipper MS Dhoni and the video posted on the official Twitter handle of CSK.
The 14th edition of the IPL will begin from April 9 with the defending champions taking on the Royal Challengers Bangalore, and CSK will face Delhi Capitals at Wankhede Stadium on April 10.
