Indian team’s newcomer pacer Prasidh Krishna made one of the most desired ODI debuts after his stellar performance during the first ODI clash between India and England in Pune on Tuesday.
The 25-year old has been garnering nothing but praises from all over the cricket fraternity after he registered a dazzling figure of 4/54, hunting down crucial wickets for the team, including Jason Roy and Ben Stokes, which helped India clinch a 66-run victory.
One of the many names that have showered praises on the speedster includes that of the legendary Australian quick Glenn McGrath. McGrath took to Instagram to congratulate the youngster fir making a blockbuster debut.
Applauding the new paceman of the Indian cricket team, McGrath wrote, “Congratulations Prasidh @skiddyy on taking 4/54 & breaking the Indian record for most wickets taken by a bowler on ODI debut. Well done mate #cricket #mrfpacefoundation #fbc”
Overwhelmed by the legendary player’s appreciation, the Bengaluru pacer said, “The difference he made was to bring in that aura of calmness and also he was very specific about the line and length with respect to different pitches. He always spoke of being consistent. The first thing I picked from him was to remain in the present under all circumstances as it is the most important aspect for a bowler when you are playing a game.”
Krishna attended the CA Centre of Excellence in Brisbane in 2019 as part of MRF Pace Foundation’s MoU with Cricket Australia and has improved massively under the mentorship of ‘Pigeon’.
